Customer requirements –
Expansion of Chrome process plant result in the increased demand for process water.
Scope of work –
To match the high level of the existing water storage tank. Use only the overflow of the existing tank. Undisrupted water supply to the plant.
Solution –
AQUATHANE designed, supplied and installed AquaTank with 300mm Inlet, outlet and overflow.
Duration –
From manufacturing to commissioning 4 weeks.

The new AquaTank provides additional capacity

100m3 Process water for underground Coal mine

Customer requirements –
New Process water storage tank for newly developed incline shaft.
Scope of work –
Drilling and blasting operations could not start with out water
Solution –
Due to the modular design of AquaTank it was possible to dispatch and install the tank in n short period and the mine could start operations.
Duration –
From manufacturing to commissioning, 1 week.
Result –
Process water now stored and available

Storage of underground water and purification

Customer requirements –
Storage of U/G Water for purification and re-use via RO system (500kl) and storage of purified water
Solution –
AQUATHANE design and installation of 3 AquaTanks with a combined capacity of 1500kl.

Pipeline Systems

Application –     
Chrome Mine
Scope of work –  
Client needed additional drinking water and wanted it distributed across an area of 12,000m2, to various points of use.
Solution –   
A turnkey project was presented to ensure all stations are interlinked. The project included the design and construction of an abstraction point to extract water from a flowing river. Raw water was stored and filtered, after which it was distributed to the various points. AQUATHANE installed 8km of a uniquely designed pipeline to speed up the process.
This cable-lock pipe system, rated at 25bar pressure, allowed us to quickly lay the distance. The entire system operates as a holistic system, with telemetry and radio signals conveying the levels of the various points to a centralised PLC, which also controls the ultrafiltration plant.
Result –
Customer satisfied with project and now uses less borehole water.

Pumping System and Pipeline Installation

Ultra-filtration Plant

Customer requirements –
Customer required clear water for the production of his foundry sand product
Solution –
AQUATHANE custom built a 50kl/hr Ultra filtration plant, which was contrainerised for easy transport and quick mobilization.
Duration:
6-8 weeks
Result –
Customer now uses TSS-free water to wash the final product.

Ultra-filtration Plant

4 Mega-litre per day Ultra-filtration Plant. This system treats underground mine water to a potable quality, safe for human consumption. Ranked Top Ten internationally, complete with full system integration and verified integrity determination. The system conducts automatic integrity tests, which protects the user in the event of fibre failure and or potential contamination of treated water. It controls and verifies the disinfection process for ultimate safety and continuous data logging reduced liability. The system is PLC controlled and interfaced with SCADA operating stations.
Result –
The entire mine now has potable, safe drinking water.
